I wanted to highlight one off my major bugbears when it comes to coaching people and improving their health.
But first I want to introduce you to a truly inspirational man named Jack Lalanne.
Jack Lalanne was most famous for his long running health and fitness show in the US, “The Jack Lalanne show”, that ran from 1951 – 1985. In fact, to date it is the longest running health and fitness show ever.
You may have also have heard one of Jack’s famous quotes used:
“A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.”
“Exercise is King, nutrition is Queen, put them together and you’ve got a kingdom.”
As Jack would emphisise 60 years ago – improving your health and fitness is a very simple concept – take regular exercise and improve the quality of you diet.
What really irritates me is that now in the 21st century we are spending more resources than ever on dealing the ENTIRELY PREVENTABLE side effects of not following this simple wisdom. Some of these issues include:
- Stress and our ability to deal with it
- Lack of and quality of sleep
- Type-2 diabetes
- Obesity and weight issues
- Coronary Heart Disease
I love Jack’s passionate approach to give it you like it is. No nonsense, straight to the point. The buck stops with you and you are fully in control of what you eat and how active you are.
