Parrot Fest is Back! Sunday April 10th
Parrotfest is back already – thanks to public demand. The Apple and Parrot on Torquay’s harbourside has been besieged by bands from all over South Devon vying for a place on the bill on Sunday April 10. The line up announced today includes a mix of indie, rock, 80s and mashup, so something for everyone. The festival kicks off at 12 noon with a warm up from SmashSomeShapes. Then you’ll be able to see Lauren and Lane, Kim and Amy Unplugged, Jam Night heroes, Mitch and Mace, The Harmonix, Stone Angels, Vivid Sky, Ashbird, AJ, Elliot and Kane acoustic Mashup, The Beacons, Microlight, the Iconyx and Wasted Little DJs.
Mathew Jarratt of the Apple and Parrot said:
Bands were literally queueing up to perform. We staged our first Parrotfest in February and it was obvious from the start that it was going to be a huge success and that we’d be bringing it back quickly. It was a bit tragic that we’ve had to turn some bands away but there’s always next time. Tight Music management are supplying our PA rig, stage management and sound engineers to ensure that the bands get the best possible showcase. It’s all about promoting local bands and there’s an awful lot of talent out there.
Great thing about Parrotfest is that it’s not just a music festival. It’s also a beer festival and there will be a selection of beers and ciders on offer. Unlike Glastonbury, this is a great opportunity to enjoy great music all day with a really good pint and some food, without queueing, getting wet, sunburnt or muddy. And no legendary Glasto loos to contend with either.
