Stephen Fry to Narrate at Torquay’s Princess Theatre

Percussion spectacular DrumChasers, narrated by Stephen Fry, is set to visit the Princess Theatre in Torquay Next Week!!

DrumChasers is the new show from British composer Ethan Lewis Maltby, the creator of international success Noise Ensemble, and is an entirely new concept – a musical without words, but with drums.

Ten virtuosic percussionists and dancers take to the stage in an explosion of sound and light with a story of rivalry, romance and rhythm.

A vibrant and exciting show with a fully original contemporary orchestral score, the show features many percussion instruments, from marimbas and vibraphones to triangles and tambourines.

It tells the story of Mr Bennett, a caretaker in an old concert hall who cares for the instruments stored within its walls.

However, one night, something happens, something loud and something otherworldly and he is transported to the land of the DrumChasers, a land of percussion where forbidden love struggles to be heard against the noise of rival gangs.

It is left to Mr Bennett to settle this ancient dispute and bring peace and finally, quiet.

Powerful and energetic, moving and funny, DrumChasers is a show for all ages, for both fans of percussion and lovers of theatre, and promises an evening quite unlike anything you’ve seen before.

The show has no dialogue – the percussion does the talking and with an exciting, strong, clear narrative, it is accessible to all.

DrumChasers hits Princess Theatre Torquay on March 24, 2011. Tickets are available from the Princess Theatre’s Website, or by calling: 0844 847 2315
