Waving Man To Switch on Christmas Lights
A Facebook group has been created to ’MOSES PETER TO TURN ON THE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS IN TORQUAY’.
The group/event has been created by 17 year old, Kate Penberthy, from Torquay.

Currently, there are over 3000 that are on the event’s page, after only being on-line for under 24 hours.
The immediate response from people across Torbay, and the rest of the world after hitting international headlines with the press for being the ‘Waving Man Between Torquay & Paignton’.
Mayor Nick Bye, was not available to comment on the Christmas Light Switch on, to confirm weather this was a go ahead, for 2010, or 2011.
We spoke to the creator of the page, Kate said that she had only created the event to see if people would ‘Catch On’, Seeing so many people on the page now, she is purposing to submit the idea to Torbay Council later in the month. The idea from Kate, was ‘Just a Crazy Dream’, Kate admits that having some ‘dead end’ celebrity, or some old councillor do the Switch on just isn’t fun, so why not get the two happy things in Life, Moses Peter, - The waving man, and Christmas, then everyone’s happy, and maybe Moses will make a little speech, and ‘Wave at the end’.
With Christmas just a few months away, Shops have already started filling up with Christmas Cards, and trees. Plans for the usual Christmas Carnival in Torquay dates have been announced for November 20th, Starting at 4.30pm.
Also, The Royal Marines Christmas 2010 Show, will be held at the Princess Theatre, Torquay – Sunday 12th December ay 7.30pm, tickets already selling fast.

He’s called Moses Peter, not Moses Peters. He’s singular, not plural.
Like how so many people think that the 60′s pop star is called Cliff Richards. Again, there’s only one; he’s singular, not plural. Same with Trivial Pursuit(s) – and the list goes on!

What a great idea for him to turn the christmas lights on, I think that all the locals waving at HIM would be a nice change! Hope the story is true as I will be wrapping up warm and popping down there hoping he’ll be there!!
Do we know if Torbay Council are listening to what the good people Torquay/Torbay want for Christmas ???
AB, We contacted Nick Bye, (Mayor of Torbay) who agreed, that It would be nice. (Replied after this story was posted), and passed the details onto the team who deal with the Xmas light switch on.
They are going to reply back to me to see what the outcome is, However, I’ve not seen Moses Peter around on the bench for a while (I Go past everyday!)
